Exchange rates

A shop that buys stock in foreign currency has to edit the rate by hand, and every day it forgets means selling at yesterday's price. Here the rate comes from the National Bank of Ukraine or PrivatBank and refreshes itself, and prices of goods priced in foreign currency are recalculated the moment it changes.

What it does

• Offers two rate sources: the official National Bank of Ukraine rate and PrivatBank rates. No keys and no registration are needed — both directories are public.
• For PrivatBank lets you pick the exact variant: card or cash, sell or buy. A shop normally needs the sell rate, because that is the rate at which it buys currency.
• Refreshes rates once a day on a schedule; you can also refresh manually at any moment from the currency settings.
• Applies your own markup to the rate as a percentage — a cushion for fluctuations and exchange fees.
• Recalculates the prices of products whose items are priced in foreign currency straight after a rate change.
• Leaves alone any currency the source does not quote: your manually entered rate stays, and the refresh report says so.
• If the bank does not answer, the previous rates remain in force and the reason is written to the log — the shop never starts selling at an empty rate.

What you need

• The shop's main currency must be the hryvnia: both sources quote rates against it, and with another main currency the refresh is rejected with a clear message.
• A chosen source and automatic refresh switched on in Settings → Currencies.
• A regular scheduled task on the server — the daily refresh runs from it.
