Promotions
A sale page with a countdown and prices that change themselves.
Announcing a sale is not enough — the shopper has to see it: a page of its own with a banner, the terms, a countdown to the finish and every product taking part. The plugin builds that page and drops the prices on the selected products by itself, then puts the old ones back when the sale is over.
What it does
- Builds the sale page: banner, heading, description, a countdown to the end and the list of participating products, with filters if you want them.
- Selects the products once — by category, brand, attribute, a ready-made selection or by hand; a counter shows straight away how many products made it into the sale.
- Cuts the price by a percentage or by a fixed amount; when the period ends the previous prices come back on their own, with nothing to edit.
- Tracks sales by their dates: off, scheduled, running, finished — a sale can be prepared in advance and will switch itself on the right day.
- Adds a section listing every sale, a «part of a sale» line under the product price and a label on the catalogue card, both linking to the sale itself.
- The title, description and search-engine details are filled in for every language of the shop, and a sale can be shown on selected storefronts only.
What you need
- The address of the sales section in the plugin settings, «promotions» by default: the word is taken entirely, so a category or page with that address can no longer be created.
- An end date on the sale — without one the countdown has nothing to show.
- Images: a cover for the sales list and a banner for the page header.
What appears in the shop
This is what a shopper sees once it is installed.
- On the product page, right below the price, a «Part of a promotion» line appears with a link to the promotion itself.
- A promotion label appears on the product card in the catalogue, so the shopper sees the offer already in the product list.
New shop pages
- /promotions The «Promotions» section — a list of all the shop's current promotions. The section address is set in the plugin settings, «promotions» by default. The section also opens under the storefront's other languages: /uk/promotions.
- /promotions/{адрес акции} A single promotion page: the terms, a countdown to the end and the items taking part. The countdown to the end of the promotion is styled separately — its look can also be changed in the design editor.
Акция, в которой не отмечен ни один товар, больше не сохраняется молча: магазин говорит об этом сразу, а не после сохранения.
The section in the new panel
Promotions are edited in the new control panel: «General», «Promotion products» and «Localization» are laid out in tabs, and the cover and banner are chosen right in the card. Next to the product selection you still see how many products it covers, with a warning when it covers none.
An icon of its own
In the «Plugins» section and in the list of installed items the add-on now shows its own icon instead of an identical box, so you find the one you need at a glance. The icon appears on shops running version 1.30.0 and newer.
