Structured data (Schema.org)
Search markup: price, availability and ratings next to your link in results.
Search results can show the price, availability, customer rating and section path right next to your link — such a result stands out and gets clicked more often. For a search engine to show that, the data has to reach it in a form it understands; here that happens on its own, straight from your catalogue.
What it does
- On a product page it passes the price in the storefront currency, availability, the item code, the brand, the photo and the page address.
- Passes the average rating and the review count, so stars appear under your link in search results.
- Reports the section path for products and sections, and builds a question-and-answer block from product questions that already have a published answer.
- On the home page it passes company details: name, logo, phone, email and links to your social media pages.
- Shows the search engine your shop's search box — Google can place it right under the link to your site.
- A local business block switches on separately: address, opening hours, coordinates. Each kind of markup is enabled on its own, settings are kept per storefront, and the look of the shop never changes.
What you need
- Company details — name, the address of the logo image, phone, email, social media links — are filled in the add-on settings; nothing is taken from elsewhere.
- For the local business block, an address (at least a city or a street), plus opening hours and coordinates if you want them.
- For the brand to be passed with products, a brand feature must be chosen in the shop settings.
- Stars only appear for products that already have reviews.
What appears in the shop
This is what a shopper sees once it is installed.
- Markup for search engines, invisible to shoppers, is added to your pages: price, availability, rating, section path and company details. Nothing visible is added to the page and the design is untouched — there is nothing to edit in the design editor. What exactly is passed to search engines is chosen in the plugin settings.
The section in the new panel
Structured data is set up in the new control panel: the data types are gathered into one list of switches, and the company details and address sit next to them in their own blocks. The wording of the section travels with the add-on and updates together with it.
Search engines see your shop name
In search-engine markup the shop is named the way you wrote it in the shop settings, not by the storefront internal name. An organisation name set in the add-on own settings still takes priority.
An icon of its own
In the «Plugins» section and in the list of installed items the add-on now shows its own icon instead of an identical box, so you find the one you need at a glance. The icon appears on shops running version 1.30.0 and newer.
