SEO filter

Shoppers rarely look for «smartphones» — they look for «black smartphones with 128 GB», and end up either at a competitor or in your general section, where they still have to filter. This add-on turns such selections into standalone pages with a short address and their own text, the kind of page a search engine shows for an exact query.

What it does

• Builds a selection page from filter conditions — feature values, ranges, price — and gives it a short readable address inside the section.
• Every selection gets its own heading, description, keywords and texts above and below the product list, in each language of the shop.
• Creates selections in bulk: pick a section and the features, and a page appears for every value that actually has products; headings are filled in for you and duplicates are skipped.
• Puts links to selections on the product page next to the feature value, and shows the other selections of the same section on the selection page itself.
• Sends a shopper who filtered products by hand to the short address of the matching selection if one already exists; any selection can be switched off or hidden from search.
• Passes selections to the sitemap, and keeps plain filtered listings without a selection out of search so they do not dilute the section.

What you need

• The features you build selections from must be enabled in the section filter and have a list of values.
• The «Sitemap» add-on, if you want selections included in the sitemap.
