Ukrposhta
Ukrposhta delivery at checkout: branches, courier and cost calculation.
Ukrposhta is cheaper than private carriers and reaches places where no one else has a branch — for shoppers in smaller towns that is often the deciding argument. This add-on brings it into your checkout: the customer finds their post office, and the cost and pickup type are fixed in the order right away.
What it does
- Puts Ukrposhta among the delivery options with two pickup types: a post office or a courier to the address, each turned on separately (Ukrposhta has no parcel lockers).
- Lets the customer find a post office by searching the list or on a map; the directory of regions, districts, cities and offices is kept inside the shop and refreshed with a button in the settings.
- Calculates the price from the sender postcode, the recipient city, the weight, the dimensions and the declared value of the order; your own markup can be added on top.
- Falls back to your standby rate when a price cannot be quoted at that moment, so the option never disappears from checkout.
- Offers a "carrier rates" mode: no price is calculated and the customer pays according to the Ukrposhta price list.
- Includes a test mode so you can check pricing and checkout before the shop goes live.
What you need
- A contract with Ukrposhta and access to its online cabinet.
- The eCom access key issued in that cabinet.
- The sender postcode of the warehouse you ship from — the tariff is calculated from it.
What appears in the shop
This is what a shopper sees once it is installed.
- «Ukrposhta» appears among the delivery options at checkout. Choosing it, the customer searches for their city and picks a branch — from a list or on a map. The city search and the branch map are part of your shop's checkout, so they work in any design and appear on their own. Nothing has to be edited in the design editor.
Branch lookup works again
The city and branch lookup addresses of Ukrposhta did not exist at all: a registration mistake made the shop answer them with «page not found». The add-on is modelled on Nova Poshta, where the same mistake was found — both are fixed.
Settings show what they actually do
The delivery method form left several fields blank even though they were already in effect: how customers pick a branch, the default parcel weight and the markup. The fields now show the very values the method calculates with, so you can see what customers get before changing anything.
The directory update now shows its progress
Press «Update the directory» and you see what is happening: how much is already downloaded and when it finished. Previously the button stayed at «Queued…» until the very end.
The add-on tells you when the directory is empty
Until cities and offices are downloaded, delivery does not work: customers have nothing to choose from. The add-on now says so in its settings and in the delivery method, right next to the «Update cities and offices» button. The same goes for a missing eCom token.
The token moved to the add-on settings
The eCom token and the test mode are now set once, in the add-on settings, along with the button that refreshes the office directory. Your token is carried over automatically.
The sender postcode stays with the shipping method: a warehouse in another city has its own — add a separate method for it.
The office directory explains itself
Directory labels now read as words, and the update date shows a date instead of «Invalid Date». When the access key is wrong you see why: the directory used to stay empty while the update was reported as successful. Checkout no longer breaks when the carrier is unreachable.
An icon of its own
In the «Plugins» section and in the list of installed items the add-on now shows its own icon instead of an identical box, so you find the one you need at a glance. The icon appears on shops running version 1.30.0 and newer.
