WhatsApp: Cloud API
Order updates sent to shoppers on WhatsApp through Meta’s official service.
Where customers live in a messenger, an email may stay unopened while a WhatsApp message gets read. Sending goes through the official Meta service from your business number — no intermediaries and no per-text charges.
What it does
- Sends order messages to the WhatsApp number of the customer: order placed, status changed, order paid.
- You write the message text yourself, with the order number and total, the status, the customer name and the shop name available inside it.
- Messages go out as plain text. Meta allows that within 24 hours of the customer contacting you; after that the service refuses, and the reason is written to the log. Message templates pre-approved by Meta are not sent by this add-on yet.
- Strips brackets, spaces and the plus sign from the recipient number — keep phones stored with the country code.
- A test message to your own number can be sent straight from the settings, before the first order.
- You can use several numbers: each storefront gets its own connection, one of them the main.
What you need
- A WhatsApp business account with a verified business number.
- The sender phone number id from the WhatsApp Business account.
- A permanent access token from the same account.
The plugin speaks the language of your panel
The service name and the hints for its fields now live in the plugin itself and are translated into Russian, Ukrainian and English. They used to sit in the engine, where a disabled plugin still took up space and translations had to wait for a shop update.
An icon of its own
In the «Plugins» section and in the list of installed items the add-on now shows its own icon instead of an identical box, so you find the one you need at a glance. The icon appears on shops running version 1.30.0 and newer.
